Do not expect a row of neatly finished stone pyramids. Túcume is an adobe complex around Cerro Purgatorio, with a museum explaining successive cultures and archaeological research. Start there. The shapes outside mean more when you know what you are looking at.
How it fits into a journey
Make Túcume a separate outing from Chiclayo. Tumbas Reales de Sipán complements it without needing to be on the same day.
